New Builds & Transitions

The New Builds and Transitions (NB&T) group works initially with Starwood's A&C group on the project design to ensure the plan is efficient from an operating perspective for Starwood-managed projects. NB&T also assists the developer during the hotel's development and construction period to set up the following areas: Operations, Food and Beverage, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources and Information Technology. The New Builds and Transitions project manager works directly with the developer and is the primary Starwood contact as the project advances toward pre-opening activities.

The NB&T Sales and Marketing team assists the owner in managing and administering the pre-opening sales office, marketing and public relations efforts and sales staff selection to maximize market share premiums upon opening.

Starwood works with our franchise licensees to provide the documentation needed to implement the construction or conversion of your hotel, from design schematics to pre-opening sales and marketing planning tools.
